JEE Main 2027 Syllabus: Physics, Chemistry, Maths

According to the National Testing Agency (NTA), JEE Main covers three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, which are based on Class 11 & Class 12 NCERT topics. The JEE syllabus includes important topics like Electricity, Mechanics, Magnetism, Algebra, Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Inorganic & Organic Chemistry.

JEE Physics Syllabus

The JEE Physics syllabus covers 20 units, combining conceptual understanding, numerical problem-solving, and experimental knowledge.

SectionCore Chapters
MechanicsUnits and Measurements, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power, Rotational Motion, Gravitation
Properties of MatterProperties of Solids and Liquids
Heat & ThermodynamicsThermodynamics, Kinetic Theory of Gases
Oscillations & WavesSimple Harmonic Motion, Waves and Oscillations
ElectromagnetismElectrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current, EMI and AC, Electromagnetic Waves
Optics & Modern PhysicsRay Optics, Wave Optics, Dual Nature, Atoms and Nuclei, Electronic Devices
Experimental SkillsMeasurement instruments, electrical experiments, optics experiments, and practical observations

JEE Mains Chemistry Syllabus

The JEE Mains Chemistry syllabus is divided into three major branches: Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry.

BranchCore Chapters
Physical ChemistrySome Basic Concepts, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Chemical Thermodynamics, Solutions, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Electrochemistry, and Chemical Kinetics
Inorganic ChemistryClassification of Elements and Periodicity, p-Block Elements, d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination Compounds
Organic ChemistryPurification and Characterisation, General Organic Chemistry (GOC), Hydrocarbons, Halogen Compounds, Oxygen and Nitrogen Compounds, Biomolecules and Practical Chemistry

JEE Mathematics Syllabus

Mathematics is often the most time-intensive section for JEE aspirants. Its lengthy calculations, interconnected concepts, and problem-solving requirements make calculation speed and accuracy essential.

The major chapters in the JEE Mathematics syllabus include:

  • Algebra: Sets, Relations and Functions, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Matrices, Determinants, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Sequences and Series.
  • Calculus: Limits, Continuity, Differentiability, Integral Calculus and Differential Equations.
  • Coordinate Geometry: Straight Lines, Circles, Parabola, Ellipse and Hyperbola.
  • Vector and 3D Geometry: Vector Algebra, Spatial Coordinates, Direction Ratios, Direction Cosines and Equations of Lines.
  • Other Topics: Trigonometry, Statistics and Probability.

IIT JEE Syllabus (Advanced) vs. JEE Main Syllabus

The syllabus for IIT JEE & JEE Main differs. JEE Main primarily tests Class 11 and 12 concepts, with strong emphasis on NCERT-aligned fundamentals, accuracy, and speed.

JEE Advanced goes further with combined concepts, demands stronger analytical reasoning, and requires more difficult applications of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Topics such as Thermal Physics can involve more challenging, multi-concept applications.
